Miguel Blanco

Once upon a time, in the vibrant country of Venezuela, there lived a compassionate and determined individual named Miguel Blanco. Miguel was not only a skilled Physical Therapist but also a beacon of hope for children with special needs and their families. His unwavering commitment to making a positive impact in their lives led him on a remarkable journey of self-discovery and purpose.

Driven by his passion for helping others, Miguel embarked on an incredible adventure that took him far from his homeland and led him to the United States. As fate would have it, he found himself immersed in a new world of possibilities, where he discovered the transformative power of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy. This encounter sparked a newfound determination within him to create a lasting difference in the lives of children with autism.

Miguel’s journey continued as he transitioned into the role of a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), working closely with children on the autism spectrum. It was during this time that he recognized a crucial gap in the available support systems. He witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by these extraordinary children and their families when it came to finding patient, knowledgeable, and empathetic individuals to work with them.

Driven by an unwavering sense of purpose and armed with his expertise as a Physical Therapist and RBT, Miguel embarked on a mission to bridge this gap. He understood that the power of swimming could provide a unique and transformative experience for children on the spectrum. With dedication and unwavering determination, he set out to create a program that would offer adapted swimming classes specifically designed to meet their needs.

Thus, AquaAlternatives was born, a testament to Miguel’s vision, compassion, and tireless efforts. Through his program, he sought to create a safe and inclusive space where children on the spectrum could experience the joy, freedom, and therapeutic benefits of swimming. Miguel’s extensive knowledge of physical therapy, combined with his deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by these children, allowed him to develop a curriculum that provided both support and empowerment.

With each stroke and every splash, Miguel’s passion and expertise shone through, nurturing the growth and development of these incredible children. His patience, compassion, and ability to adapt to individual needs created an environment where children could flourish and build their confidence in the water. He became a trusted mentor, guiding them on their swimming journey and encouraging them to reach new heights.

What sets AquaAlternatives apart is its commitment to trauma-free classes. Miguel understands that children with special needs may have unique sensitivities and experiences. Therefore, every aspect of the program is carefully designed to create a safe and supportive environment, ensuring that each child feels secure and comfortable throughout their swimming lessons.
